Restoration Project
Dr. David Wingate studied zoology to become the Conservation Officer for the Bermuda Government Parks Department from 1966 to his retirement in 2000. David Wingate is considered to be the founding father of conservation from 1962 until he retired. Considering that he is 85 years old and still handling a chainsaw. At Trunk Island we assisted the Lengend by removing the invasive species, Chinese Fan palms so he can put endemic species down; However, carefully considered that we would not mistaken the invasive species for the endemic species "Bermuda Palmetto."
